Man shot, killed by cops in East Northport responding to a domestic incident call

An East Northport man was shot and killed by Suffolk County police Sunday night after pointing a weapon at responding officers that later turned out to be a pellet gun, officials said.
Officers from the Second Precinct were called to a home on Grant Street shortly after 10 p.m. for a domestic incident.
When they arrived, resident Jeffrey McClure, 26, pointed a gun at the officers, who then exited the home, police said.
McClure then went on the roof of the home and ignored commands to drop the gun and threatened to shoot the officers, authorities said.
The suspect was then shot as he pointed the gun, which police said appeared to be a hunting rifle, at officers, authorities said. McClure was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue personnel.
It was not immediately clear how many officers fired at the suspect or how many times he was hit.
