An East Northport man riding a motorcycle was killed Saturday night after the bike crashed into an SUV making a left turn in the hamlet, Suffolk police said.

About 9:40 p.m., Gary Skaats, 30, was driving a 1998 Honda motorcycle westbound on Jericho Turnpike near Verleye Avenue when he crashed into a 2012 Honda SUV attempting a turn left from the eastbound roadway into a parking lot, according to police.

Skaats, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
