Students at Ward Melville High School in East Setauket were evacuated Wednesday afternoon as Suffolk County police investigated a bomb threat.

According to a statement from the Three Village Central School District, a threat was scrawled on the wall of a second-floor boys' bathroom at the high school.

Police were called, the school was immediately evacuated and students were dismissed at about 2 p.m., the statement said.

Deirdre Gilligan, a spokeswoman for the school district, said police were on the scene, still investigating.
