Eastbound Sunrise in Hampton Bays reopened

The eastbound lanes of the Sunrise Highway in Hampton Bays were reopened just before 1 p.m., after being closed because of an overturned camper trailer on the Shinnecock Canal Bridge, New York State Police said.

Traffic was heavy at the time of the accident and was backed up quite a ways, at least to Exit 63, police said.

The accident, involving a camper being towed by an RV, occurred just before 11 a.m., police said.

There were no injuries.
