Eastport man arrested on drug charges

An Eastport man has been arrested on charges of criminal possession of cocaine after being stopped on Sunrise Highway, Southampton Town police said.

Police said they pulled over Eric Gomez, 23, at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday because of an equipment violation on his 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass and then found he had four grams of cocaine.

Gomez is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
