A man is in serious condition after his e-bike collided with a car in North Lindenhurst on Friday night, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The crash happened on Straight Path at its intersection with Route 109 shortly after 8 p.m., police said.
Jose Hernandez, 55, of Lindenhurst, was driving a 2012 Toyota Prius south through that intersection when he struck Wyandanch resident Gregory Dotson, 49, who was riding a Hunter Pro e-bike through the crosswalk.
Dotson was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in Islip Town with serious injuries, according to the news release. Police said Hernandez had a green light when the crash occurred and he was not hurt.
A police spokesman could not immediately provide an update on Dotson’s condition on Saturday morning.
Suffolk police are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
