A Copiague man was killed Wednesday morning when he fell off a roof he was working on in Yaphank, Suffolk County police said.

Edgar Moroy-Morales, 34, of Copiague, was employed as a roofer and was working about 40 feet off the ground at Yaphank’s The Boulevard condo complex on William Floyd Parkway on Wednesday. At about 10 a.m., police said Moroy-Morales fell off the roof and was injured.

He was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he died of his injuries.

Suffolk police are continuing to investigate. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was also called to the scene to investigate.
