Elderly man injured in Brentwood crash

An elderly North Babylon man was left in critical condition Saturday after his car was struck by another as he attempted to make a left turn in Brentwood, Suffolk police said.

Bruno Laface, 86, was trying to make a left turn from a parking lot at Suffolk and Eastern avenues in his 1991 GMC Jimmy about 4:45 p.m. Saturday when his car was hit by a 2008 Dodge Charger heading eastbound on Suffolk Avenue, police said.

The impact flipped the GMC on its side, police said.

Laface was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. The Charger's driver, Michael Casarona, 25, of Bohemia and his passenger were not injured.

Police impounded both vehicles for a safety inspection, and they ask anyone with any information about this crash is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
