Brentwood man killed in hit-run crash
A pedestrian from Brentwood was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Bay Shore early Saturday, Suffolk County police said Sunday.
Police said at 3:10 a.m., Elvin Ponce, 30, of Brentwood was hit by a car heading east on Redington Street, east of Brook Avenue. Ponce was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they are investigating and described the car that fled as a four-door, dark-colored sedan that may have sustained front-end damage.
