Three firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a house blaze in Farmingville early Sunday, according to Suffolk police, while the cause of another fire late Saturday in Ronkonkoma is under investigation.

An off-duty Farmingville Fire Department firefighter was driving past a home on Woodycrest Drive about 1:10 a.m. when he saw the house in flames, police said. He stopped, went inside and safely evacuated all the occupants, officials said.

The Farmingville Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. Three firefighters were injured and were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

Fire department representatives could not be reached for comment.

Suffolk police said the Ronkonkoma fire, at 4236 Express Dr. N., did not result in injuries. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
