Driver killed in single-car crash in Shoreham, police say

An East Moriches man was killed early Saturday when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in Shoreham, Suffolk County police said.
Michael Austin, 32, was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger north on William Floyd Parkway, just south of Route 25A, when his truck hit the tree at 6:40 a.m., Suffolk police said in a news release.
Austin was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call 631-852-8752.
