A Mount Sinai man died after being thrown from the car he was driving that had left the road and struck a tree in Coram, police said on Thursday.

Mark Farabaugh, 54, was driving a 2001 Hyundai south on County Road 83, just north of Pine Road, in Coram, when the single-car accident occurred at about 10:37 a.m., police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, the police said.

The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check; anyone with information on the crash should call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
