Raymond Gotta, of East Patchogue, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk police said. Credit: Paul Mazza

An 81-year-old man died in a single vehicle crash in East Patchogue on Friday morning, Suffolk police said.

Raymond Gotta was behind the wheel of a 2018 Hyundai Elantra heading east on Sunrise Service Road "when his vehicle left the roadway near Hospital Road and crashed into a tree," Suffolk police said in a news release.

Gotta, of East Patchogue, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police requested that anyone with information regarding the crash call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
