Scott Brunengraber, 45, of Hauppauge, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment in a fatal crash, Suffolk police said. Credit: SCPD

A Hauppauge man was charged with driving while intoxicated after an early Monday morning crash that killed a passenger in his car, police said.

Scott Brunengraber, 45, was driving a 2016 Lexus on Terry Road in Hauppauge when he struck a parked 2017 Toyota at about 3:15 a.m., Suffolk County police said. Brunengraber pulled over on Ingrid Court and the passenger, who was identified as Wu Wang, 40, of Flushing, was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.


Brunengraber was charged with driving while intoxicated and second-degree reckless endangerment, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
