Pedestrian killed in crash on Route 347 in Lake Grove, police say

Suffolk police are investigating the death of a woman who was struck and killed in roadway of Route 347 at Moriches Road in Lake Grove on Monday night.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified by police, was struck by an eastbound 2023 Honda HRV about 10:15 p.m., police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office, police said.
The driver of the Honda, a 19-year-old woman from East Northport, was not injured and remained at the scene; the vehicle was impounded for a routine safety check, police said.
No further details were immediately available.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
