A 33-year-old woman died after she was struck by a 2012 Honda Accord while walking on a Greenlawn street shortly after midnight on Thursday, Suffolk police said.

The woman, Tagried Thompson of Huntington Station, was walking north on Park Avenue when she was struck by the Honda, which was headed north on that same street. This collision occurred north of Harland Avenue at about 12:35 a.m., police said.

Officials are checking the Honda's safety. The driver was not harmed, police said.

Thompson is at least the fourth pedestrian who was hurt or killed on Long Island since May.
