Two Long Islanders were killed in separate crashes early Tuesday in Suffolk County, authorities said.

In the first crash, a Bellport woman walking along Sunrise Highway was struck and killed by a tractor trailer in North Bellport at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Maureen Howley, 77, was walking in the right lane of westbound Sunrise Highway, east of Exit 55, when she was struck by a 2015 Kenworth tractor trailer, police said.

Howley was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 30-year-old woman from East Hampton, was not injured, police said.

No charges were reported by police.

Less than an hour later, a Babylon man died in Brightwaters when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a light pole

Bryant Dorman 24, was westbound in a 2018 Jeep on Union Boulevard, near Johnson Lane, when his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, left the roadway and struck a light pole at 2:43 a.m.
Dorman was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
