A woman was killed Friday morning in Shirley when her car crashed into a pickup truck parked on the shoulder of William Floyd Parkway, police said.

The woman was driving a 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage south on the parkway, police said, when she drove off the road shortly after 8 a.m. and crashed into an unoccupied 2004 Dodge Ram parked on the shoulder, just south of Dawn Drive.

Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of kin. The Mitsubishi was impounded for a safety check.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call 631-852-8752.
