Toddler fatally struck by pickup truck in driveway of Mount Sinai home, police say

A toddler was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in Mount Sinai on Saturday, Suffolk County police said.
The child, whose identity and age were not released, was fatally struck by a Ram 1500 in the driveway of a Maureen Drive home at 12:42 p.m., according to a police department news release. Police said the child’s father, 43, and mother, 44, were on the scene at the time.
The child was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.
A police spokesperson declined Newsday’s request for further details, including who was in the truck at the time of the incident.
Suffolk police detectives were investigating. Police asked anyone with information to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
