Matthew Pawlak of Riverhead killed in Long Island Expressway crash, police say
A 45-year-old Riverhead man was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Monday morning on the Long Island Expressway in Holtsville, police said.
Suffolk County police said Matthew Pawlak was driving a 2007 Jeep east on the LIE when he lost control between Exits 62 and 63, crashing head-on into the center median at 2:34 a.m.
Police said he died at the scene.
Additional details were not immediately available, but police are asking anyone with information to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
