A man in a motorized scooter was struck and fatally injured by a pickup truck Monday in Lindenhurst, police said.

Arye Sachs, 58, of Lindenhurst, was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, Suffolk County police said.

The driver of the pickup, John Glomann, 62, of upstate Keeseville, was alone in the vehicle and was not injured, police said.

Police asked anyone who witnessed the crash, which occurred about noon on Hoffman Avenue and South Broadway, to call them at 631-854-8152.

The pickup and scooter were impounded for safety checks, police said.
