Police: 3 drivers hurt in fiery three-car crash in Selden

Three drivers were injured in a three-vehicle crash in which one car caught fire Thursday morning in Selden, police said.
The accident happened at about 9:25 a.m. on northbound Nicolls Road just north of Horseblock Place in Selden, Suffolk County police said.
“A Volkswagen rear-ended a Saturn then struck a Mitsubishi,” a police spokeswoman said in a statement. “The Volkswagen caught fire as a result of the crash.”
The three drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, police said.
“There were no other passengers or injuries,” the spokeswoman said.
