The portion of Fifth Avenue near Howells Road in Bay Shore that was closed Thursday morning because of a crash involving a tanker truck has reopened, Suffolk County police said.

There were no serious injuries and no fuel was spilled when two cars and the tanker truck collided just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Howells Road, police said.

A woman, the driver of one of the cars, was taken to Southside Hospital with minor injuries, police said, and cited for driving without a license.

Suffolk County police and fire officials said the Bay Shore Fire Department and Bay Shore Ambulance responded to the scene.
