Firefighters from four departments put out a “suspicious” blaze Wednesday afternoon at a vacant lumber building in Riverhead, authorities said.

Joseph Raynor, chief of the Riverhead Fire Department, said the blaze is under investigation

There were no injuries.

The Riverhead Fire Marshall and the Suffolk County Arson Squad are looking at the fire, which “is considered suspicious in nature,” a Riverhead police news release said.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at that time, or who has information about the fire are asked to contact the Riverhead Police Detective Division at 631-727-4500.
