A fire broke out on Saturday morning at a commercial building just across the street from the Holbrook Fire Department, according to spokespeople for that agency and the Suffolk County Police Department.
The fire took place at 1695 Church St. around 6:45 a.m. The building houses multiple businesses, including an auto glass store, all of which appeared to be unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to Suffolk County police.
The Holbrook Fire Department, which has a station house directly across the street from the commercial building, responded to the scene within 10 minutes and extinguished the fire.
A department spokesperson told Newsday that no one was injured in the fire.
The Holbrook Fire Department did not immediately provide any additional information. It remains unclear what caused the fire or how extensively the building was damaged.
A Suffolk County police spokesperson said the arson squad was called to investigate the scene at 7:19 a.m., after the fire was completely extinguished.
