Fire damages strip mall in Mount Sinai

A late-night fire Thursday at a strip mall in Mount Sinai left several businesses damaged, police and fire officials said.
The fire began in a martial arts studio in the mall at 331 Rte. 25A, Suffolk County police said, causing "significant" damage to the business.
Other businesses in the attached strip mall sustained smoke and water damage, police said, though it was not immediately clear how many businesses were affected.
No one was injured.
The fire was handled by volunteers from Mount Sinai, Terryville and Miller Place.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
