Firefighters from three departments battled a blaze that erupted in a barn behind a Lloyd Harbor home just after 9 p.m. Friday.

There were no injuries, and firefighters from the Huntington Fire Department said no one was in the barn on School Lane at the time of the fire. An unknown number of chickens and rabbits living in the barn died in the blaze, firefighters said.

Firefighters from Huntington Manor and Cold Spring Harbor also helped to put out the fire.

Fire officials had no immediate information on the cause of the fire, which destroyed the barn.
