Fire destroys North Bellport home, officials say

An overnight house fire destroyed a home in North Bellport, Suffolk County police and fire officials said Monday.
The fire at the home on Pace Avenue was reported in a 911 call just before midnight, police said.
Fire officials said firefighters from Bellport responded to the scene, with firefighters from Hagerman and Brookhaven providing mutual aide. Photos from the scene show the home completely gutted by fire, which also burned through the roof.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
