Fire heavily damages Babylon home, officials say

A Babylon home was heavily damaged by a fire Saturday, Suffolk County fire officials said.
The house fire on Alexander Street was reported at 1 p.m., officials said. No one was home and no injuries were reported, they said.
Babylon and West Babylon firefighters doused the blaze in about an hour. Officials did not have an estimated loss or cause of the fire.
