Fire in upscale Fire Island community
A fire has been reported in an upscale Fire Island beach community, officials said Thursday.
A call came in at 12:48 p.m. reporting a fire at a beachfront location near Walnut Walk and Bay Walk in Fair Harbor, according to Suffolk County fire communications.
The Fair Harbor, Saltaire, Kismet and Ocean Beach fire departments responded. No further information was immediately available.
The community is filled with expensive summer homes.
