Fire Island mosquito spraying likely last of season
The village of Fire Island Pines will be sprayed Thursday with what will likely be the season's last application of pesticide to control adult mosquitoes that could be carrying West Nile virus, officials said.
Streets in the Fire Island village will be sprayed from the ground from 6 to 10:30 p.m., the Suffolk County Department of Health Services said in a release. More information is available at suffolkcountyny.gov/health.
