Fire ravages Water Mill home
A fire ravaged a large home in Water Mill Thursday night, Southampton Town police said.
There were no injuries in the blaze on Jordan Drive, but embers did endanger neighboring residences, police said in a news release.
One nearby home did have some damage from the fire, police said.
Records show the home is 6,421 square feet with six bedrooms, a swimming pool and tennis court.
A neighbor on Head of Pond Road reported the fire to police, after seeing a "red glow to the north of her residence" at about 6:47 p.m.
Fire departments from Southampton Village and North Sea were dispatched to the scene and received backup from the Hampton Bays, Riverhead, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, East Hampton and Flanders departments, police said.
