Fire officials and police are investigating the cause of a fire early Friday that destroyed a vacant home in Coram.

The fire that engulfed the home on Erna Drive, near Middle Country Road, was reported at 12:23 a.m., officials said.

Volunteers from Gordon Heights and Middle Island battled the blaze for about 1 1/2 hours, officials said.

No injuries were reported.
