A firefighter was injured battling a chimney fire in Remsenburg-Speonk Saturday morning, fire officials said.

The firefighter was taken to a hospital with minor injuries after responding to the fire on South Phillips Avenue at about 7 a.m., said Eastport Fire Chief Mark Yakaboski.

The fire began in a chimney but spread to a nearby wall, he said.

Responding to the fire were the fire departments from Eastport, East Moriches and Westhampton Beach.
