Firefighters battle N. Lindenhurst commercial blaze

Firefighters were battling a fire at a commercial building on Gear Avenue off Wellwood Avenue in North Lindenhurst early Saturday.

Suffolk County police said the fire was reported in a 911 call at 2:21 a.m. Volunteers from the East Farmingdale fire department responded.

There were reports of a partial building collapse - but police and fire officials said they could not immediately confirm details.

The blaze was still being fought at 3:30 a.m.
