Eight Suffolk volunteer firefighter departments battled a raging barn fire overnight Thursday in Setauket, officials said.

The fire at the barn on Old Field Road near Meadow Sea Lane was reported at 12:33 a.m., Suffolk fire officials said.

Firefighters from Setauket, Port Jefferson, Terryville, Centereach, Stony Brook, Mount Sinai, St. James and Selden battled the roaring fire for several hours, officials said.

Emergency medical personnel from Stony Brook Ambulance and Port Jefferson Ambulance also responded to the scene, but officials said there were no injuries.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
