Firefighters have been battling a West Islip house fire Sunday afternoon for more than an hour, officials said.

The fire on Pat Drive was reported shortly after 4 p.m. The West Islip Fire Department is the lead agency on the scene. Departments from Bay Shore, North Babylon and Babylon Village are providing mutual aid, officials said.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control about 5:50 p.m., according to a Suffolk fire official. A dispatcher at the West Islip Fire Department said no information was available.
