Brentwood firefighters took a little more than an hour to extinguish a minor brush fire in Baywood early Wednesday morning, Suffolk County fire officials said.

The Brentwood Fire Department used 25 firefighters to extinguish a brush fire on East Oakdale Street between Howells Road and Joselson Avenue, a spokeswoman for the department said.

A call for a fire came in at about 7:12 a.m., and Brentwood responded, along with assistance from the West Islip Department, the spokeswoman said.

There were no injuries in what the spokeswoman described as a "minor brush fire" that was put out in about an hour and 20 minutes.
