Firefighters responding to a call for a vehicle fire made quick work of a engulfed pickup truck before flames spread to a nearby home Wednesday night in Gordon Heights, officials said.

The fire was reported in a 911 call at 11:43 p.m. on Central Parkway, Suffolk County fire officials said. Firefighters from Gordon Heights responded to the scene and found a blue Dodge pickup engulfed by fire.

Police said the home where the pickup was parked was evacuated. There were no reported injuries.
