Firefighters rescue dog from Farmingville basement fire

Firefighters responding to a basement fire at a home in Farmingville saved a dog from the burning house Monday.
All the residents previously managed to escape.
Officials said the fire at the home on Granny Road was reported in a 911 call at about 12:15 a.m.
Suffolk County fire officials said volunteers from Farmingville, Selden, Holtsville and Centereach all responded to the scene.
Suffolk County police said all residents were able to safely evacuate the home. A photo from the scene shows a Farmingville firefighter carrying the rescued dog from the home.
