Talk about a dog-sitter's nightmare.

The Bay Shore Fire Department came to the rescue of Rosie the dog Monday morning after she got stuck on the roof of a two-story house, fire officials said.

A Brook Avenue homeowner called upon firefighters to help get the dog, which the unidentified homeowner was dog sitting, the fire department said in a news release. The homeowner said the dog was up there at least two hours and "he had no idea how the dog got onto the roof," the department said.

"The responding firefighters quickly throw a ladder to the roof, made their way down the peak of the house" and rescued Rosie, the news release said.
