Five hurt in LIE service road crash, police say

Five people, including two children, suffered minor injuries when two vehicles collided late Thursday at an intersection along the eastbound Long Island Expressway service road in Brentwood, police said.
Suffolk County police said the T-bone crash occurred on Express Drive South at Washington Avenue at 10:12 p.m.
Police said two adults and two children were in one vehicle, while a solo driver was in the other. All five were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Photos showed that one of the vehicles ended up on the lawn of a home. Brentwood Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
Police said no one was charged in the crash, and the investigation is continuing.
