A Florida man surrendered to Suffolk County police Tuesday morning in connection with the robbery of a Chase Bank branch in Shirley on Jan. 19.

Police said Eric Roderka, 20, of Naples, Fla., who was staying at a home on Wavecrest Drive in Mastic Beach, was charged with third-degree robbery.

Police said Roderka entered the bank at 425 William Floyd Parkway at 12:45 p.m., handed a demand note to a teller, took cash, then fled.

They said he was wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap and a two-tone gray hooded jacket with white sneakers.

It was not clear what led investigators to Roderka, who surrendered to Major Case Investigations Unit detectives. Police had asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.

Roderka was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
