State Sen. John Flanagan (R-East Northport) may not have decided whether to run for Huntington Town supervisor, but he will co-chair a $500-a-head town GOP fundraiser featuring Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) as headline speaker. The event -- $200 more per person than this week's Suffolk Democratic dinner -- is scheduled for April 25 at the Crestwood Manor, in Northport.

Town chairwoman Toni Tepe said the event has no connection to Flanagan's pending decision. Huntington's other state senator, Carl Marcellino (R-Syosset), is the other co-chairman.

"But if people want to believe it is a big coming-out party, so be it," Tepe said. As for the ticket price, which is higher than usual, she said: "I'm shooting for the stars . . . I plan on taking the majority of the town board this year and I'll do everything I possibly can to make sure the right pieces are in place to ensure success."-- Rick Brand
