A motorist died Wednesday morning after he suffered a medical emergency and veered off a road in Fort Salonga, crashing into the yard of a home, Suffolk police said.

Mark Madden, 44, of Huntington, was driving a 2012 Ford pickup east on Martingale Gate at 6:47 a.m., when he careened off the road and drove into the yard on Bread and Cheese Hollow Road, police said.

He was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
