A woman who answered a knock at the door of her Lindenhurst home Wednesday night found four men armed with a gun, a baseball bat and a pipe who then assaulted her, police said.

Suffolk County police are searching for the foursome, who demanded money in Spanish and also fought with another resident, they said.

The brazen burglary and attack occurred at a home on North Railroad Avenue just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the woman was struck in the head with the bat not long after answering the door. The suspects wore dark clothing and masks, police said. They fled without stealing anything from the home.

Police said the victim did not know the attackers.

She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with a head injury, police said.
