Four men have been arrested on a variety of charges stemming from what East Hampton Town police called "a one-night crime spree" in late May.

The four were tracked down after they made purchases at stores from East Hampton to Manhattan with the credit cards they stole on the night of May 25 and morning of May 26 by breaking into numerous cars as well as burglarizing a home on Hands Creek Road, police said.

Det. Lt. Christopher Anderson of the East Hampton Town police said officers got reports of about 20 to 30 burglaries of cars over a wide area that night, both on the street and in driveways, but the suspects have been linked to only six to eight of them.

"They basically looked for easy targets," Anderson said, adding that many of the vehicles had been left unlocked.

Among the items stolen from the cars and the home were cash, credit cards, drivers' licenses, cellphones, GPS devices, golf clubs, power tools and jewelry.

The men were identified by police as Jonathan Palma, 24, Guillermo Calle-Moroco, 19, and Jose Urdialez, 26 -- all of East Hampton, and John Ramirez, 26, of White Plains.

He said the four men were acquaintances, and that none of them had criminal records. They were arrested Wednesday at their homes or at work, he said.

All were being held on $10,000 bail after their arraignments in East Hampton Justice court on burglary, grand larceny and other charges, Anderson said.
