Huntington road reopens after gas line break, DOT says
Damaged water and gas lines closed a stretch of Route 25A in Huntington during Wednesday’s morning commute, authorities said.
Closures affected traffic on the roadway from about 3:30 a.m. to shortly before 9 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation website, informny.com.
At about 3:30 a.m., the site reported that one westbound lane of Route 25A east of Sabbath Day Path was closed because of a water main break.
Then, at about 6:30 a.m. a gas-line break closed the roadway in both directions between Park Avenue and Sabbath Day Path.
The road was reopened at about 8:47 a.m., the agency said in an email alert.
