Girl, 15, shot and wounded in Mastic Beach, Suffolk police say

A 15-year-girl was shot in Mastic Beach Saturday night, the Suffolk County police said.

Officers responded at 11:40 p.m. to the scene on Flower Road, police said.

The victim was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said it appears the victim knew her male assailant.

Police did not release additional details about the suspect.
