GOP's John Jay LaValle no fan of Suffolk Exec Steve Bellone's golf game

Suffolk County Republican chairman John Jay LaValle says any donors who'd consider paying $45,000 to play golf with Democratic County Executive Steve Bellone should save their money.

Bellone has offered nine holes with any contributor of that amount at his June 29 fundraiser. LaValle told his county convention last week he's played Bellone -- and Bellone's game was so awful, "I wouldn't pay 45 cents to play him."

Keith Davies, Bellone's campaign manager, acknowledged Bellone is no golf pro, saying "he spends his limited free time with his three children and training for the Suffolk County Marathon -- not practicing golf."
